The Problem

Loop checks shouldn't need two people.

The traditional I/O commissioning workflow ties up two engineers for every single loop check: one in the field with a multimeter and a radio, one sitting in the control room watching the SCADA screen. On a 2,000-point system, that's thousands of hours of double-staffed time.

Radio communication delays slow every check to a crawl
Miscommunication causes re-tests and wasted travel time
Control room engineer is blocked from other productive work
Paper-based loop check sheets introduce transcription errors

PLC Connection

Enter the PLC IP address and select a protocol. In the field this connects over plant Wi-Fi.

Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi, any Modbus device

All values are simulated. In production, FieldLink IO reads live data directly from your PLC over plant Wi-Fi.

Capabilities

Everything a commissioning engineer needs.

Built by controls engineers, for controls engineers. Every feature maps directly to real-world loop check workflows.

Direct PLC Connection Modbus TCP

Connect to any PLC over plant Wi-Fi using Modbus TCP, OPC UA, or EtherNet/IP. No cloud relay, no VPN — direct socket connection on the local network.

Force Outputs Instantly DO/AO

Trigger digital outputs, set analog setpoints, and force coils directly from the app. Confirm limit switch feedback in real-time without a second engineer.

Live Signal Monitoring OPC UA

Watch DI, DO, AI, and AO values update in real-time at configurable poll rates. Color-coded status indicators mirror your SCADA's HMI conventions.

I/O Tag Import CSV/XLSX

Import your I/O list from CSV or Excel. Tags, descriptions, addresses, and engineering units are all preserved and searchable in the field.

Loop Check Sign-off PDF Export

Mark each I/O point as Passed, Failed, or Pending. Add notes, timestamps, and technician initials. Export a PDF loop check report when done.

Air-Gapped & Secure ISA/IEC 62443

Runs entirely on the plant's local network. No data ever leaves the site. No internet connection required. Compliant with ISA/IEC 62443 network segmentation.

The Solution

One engineer. One phone. Every loop checked.

FieldLink IO puts the control room in your pocket. Walk up to a valve, pull up the tag, force the output, and watch the limit switch feedback appear on your screen — all in under 10 seconds.

01
Connect to PLC

Enter the PLC IP address and select your protocol. Connection established in under 3 seconds.

02
Browse I/O Tags

Search your imported tag list or browse by I/O module. Filter by type, status, or area.

03
Test & Confirm

Force the output, observe the field response, confirm the feedback signal, and mark it Passed.

04
Export Report

Generate a timestamped PDF loop check report for your project records and handover package.

From engineers in the field.

"We cut our loop check time by 35% on the last project. One engineer can now do what used to take two. The ROI was obvious within the first week of commissioning."

James R.
Lead Controls Engineer
Petrochem SI firm, Texas

"The OPC UA support is what sold us. We're working on a Siemens S7-1500 system and the tag browser just works. No configuration headaches, no third-party OPC server needed."

Priya S.
Automation Engineer
Pharmaceutical plant, NJ

"The PDF export feature alone is worth the license fee. We hand over a complete, timestamped loop check record to the client at the end of commissioning. Looks incredibly professional."

Marco T.
Project Manager
System integrator, Germany

Common questions.

No. FieldLink IO communicates exclusively over the plant's local Ethernet/Wi-Fi network. No data ever leaves the site, and no internet connection is required for any feature. This makes it fully compliant with air-gapped industrial network requirements.
Any PLC that supports Modbus TCP, OPC UA, or EtherNet/IP is compatible. This includes Siemens S7-1200/1500 (via OPC UA), Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix (via EtherNet/IP), Schneider Modicon M340/M580, Mitsubishi MELSEC iQ-R, Beckhoff TwinCAT, Omron NX/NJ, and any Codesys-based PLC.
FieldLink IO includes a safety confirmation dialog before any output force operation. For additional safety, the app supports a 'Read-Only Mode' that disables all write operations — useful for monitoring without the risk of accidental output changes.
You can import an I/O list from a CSV or Excel file. The import wizard maps your columns (tag name, address, type, description, engineering units) to the app's data model. Once imported, the tag list is stored locally on the device and available offline.
Single device licenses are tied to one iOS or Android device. If you replace your device, you can transfer the license once per year. Team and Enterprise licenses use a floating license model — any device in your organisation can activate from the pool.
The exported PDF includes: project name, date/time, technician name, PLC connection details, and a table of all tested I/O points with their tag name, address, type, expected value, measured value, pass/fail status, and any notes. Formatted to meet typical project handover requirements.
